This is a belated report on our recent olive harvest: once again this year’s oil surpassed expectations: if not in terms of quantity, due to the prolonged drought that made us fear the worst, because the intensity and delicacy of flavor sand aromas and the pungency and freshness of each one of our oils have amply compensated for the smaller amounts produced.

This year CHIARENTANA has chosen to produce the following 4 oils:

As a monovarietal oil we have returned, after an interval of some years, to pure Moraiolo, a variety whose flavor, aromas and pungency dominate in the traditional Tuscan blend. It can thus be defined the most quintessentially “Tuscan” oil of all.

Maurino, our second monovarietal, with its floral aromas that bring you back to the Mediterranean bush and its natural essential herbs and bushes, such as myrtle, rosemary, heather, sage and helichrysum, remains a great favorite with our customers

Of course, we continue with our permanent prize winner Confini, the original, in fact unique, blend of 5 different varieties from Umbria, rich in diverse fragrances among which a hint of green tomato leaves.

Finally, our trademark oil Chiarentana, the traditional blend of the 4 typically Tuscan varieties, goes on being loved by all, and enhances every Tuscan recipe or dish.

In case you should be in the area, we hold oil-tastings with each oil paired with one seasonal local recipe, both in the form of lunches, or canape sized appetizers.

Meanwhile we are happy to say that our faithful pre-Covid customers are eagerly returning to Chiarentana as soon as they are able to. We have refreshed and renovated our houses and apartments in this interval. During the last two years we came upon a new clientele from Italy and the closer European countries that could be reached by car, who discovered and immediately fell in love with Chiarentana and what it has to offer. They now keep returning regularly.
